Tyler Joseph grew up in Lansing, Michigan and spent most of his childhood playing baseball and exploring the outdoors. He attended Michigan State University’s Honors College and studied in Beirut, Lebanon before attending law school.
Tyler attended Wayne State University Law School as a Dean’s Scholar and received a full tuition scholarship. While at Wayne Law, Tyler was a member of the Moot Court program and worked for the Free Legal Aid Clinic where he provided pro bono legal services to indigent and elderly clients.
After being admitted to the Michigan Bar, Tyler started his career at a prominent products liability firm in Birmingham, Michigan. There, he represented clients who had been gravely injured by automotive, industrial equipment, and consumer product defects. Tyler went on to gain extensive experience litigating a variety of personal injury and civil rights cases in both state and federal court. He has handled cases involving civil assault and battery, police brutality, auto accidents, dog bites, dram shop liability, hunting accidents, trucking accidents, employment discrimination, constitutional violations, governmental immunity, and premises liability.
Tyler is admitted to practice law in both Michigan and Illinois and is also admitted in the Eastern and Western Federal Districts of Michigan. He is an active member of The Michigan Association for Justice as well as the Detroit and Oakland County Bar Associations.
Million-Dollar Verdicts and Settlements
2025
- $76.7 Million Jury Verdict — Premises Liability
In June 2025, Tyler was a member of the Marko Law trial team that secured a record-breaking $76,727,610 jury verdict against The Kroger Company of Michigan — the largest premises liability verdict in Michigan history. Several other law firms had previously rejected the case before Tyler filed the lawsuit and spearheaded litigation efforts that ultimately led to this historic result. - $3.5 Million Settlement — Rear-End Crash (Corporate Defendant)
In March 2025, Tyler secured a $3,500,000 settlement for a man who was rear-ended by a corporate vehicle. Critical body camera footage was uncovered that revealed the defendant was lying about how the collision occurred. This key evidence undermined the defense and drove the case to a substantial resolution.
2024
- $8 Million Jury Verdict — Accidental Shooting
In May 2024, Tyler obtained an $8,000,000 jury verdict in Lapeer County for a client who was accidentally shot on a farm. The defense argued that it was Tyler’s client’s fault for not ensuring the gun was empty before the defendant pulled the trigger. The jury found the plaintiff 0% at fault. This was a Lapeer County record verdict that beat the prior record by over $6.5 million. - $4.5 Million Jury Verdict — Pedestrian Run Over at Oil Change Shop
In March 2024, Tyler went to trial and secured a $4,500,000 jury verdict in Washtenaw County for a client who was struck by a vehicle inside an oil change facility and driven through a closed garage door. The defense’s final offer before trial was just $22,500.
